Barbados Snorkeling

Barbados Snorkeling

The excellent visibility afforded by the crystal clear waters of Barbados make this Caribbean vacation spot a popular destination for snorkeling. Bell Buoy, a dome-shaped coral reef in the waters of Rockley Beach on the calmer western coast of Barbados, is populated by schools of colorful tropical fish. Along the northwestern coast in St. Lucy Parish, the coral reefs of Maycocks Bay form natural corridors – the gaps between large reef formations – that offer spectacular views of a wide variety of sea life. Holetown, in St. James Parish, has the most dive shops and scuba/snorkel outfitters. One of the little-known gems of snorkeling in Barbados is the beach off of Fahnsworth Park – it’s a quiet spot that is perfect for snorkeling. Angelfish, parrot fish, barracudas and sea turtles are among the fascinating sea creatures you’re likely to spot in the calm, clear Caribbean waters of Barbados.
